It’s ‘A Bad Year for Tomatoes’
The Zanesville Community Theatre is presenting ‘A Bad Year for Tomatoes’ this weekend.
The production follows a Hollywood actress who sets out to write her memoirs. She finds herself in Vermont, hopeful that there she can escape the public eye. What she finds is a parade of nosey neighbors and drama. Actress Rebecca Wagstaff said the audience will laugh from beginning to end.
“It’s one of those comedies where it builds and builds and builds and gets funnier and funnier and funnier with this nice crescendo at the end,” said Wagstaff.
The cast has been preparing the production since mid March and they have enjoyed creating something they feel is worthy of a full house. Actress Val Gahagan said she’s excited for one scene in particular.
“Oh, we always love the nut scene,” said Gahagan. “[The] audience is just going to love that one. They just have to come see it. You can’t even explain it but it’s always a funny one,” said Gahagan.
This weekend features an 8:00 p.m. showing this Friday and Saturday and a 2:00 p.m. matinee on Sunday. For tickets you can call (740) 455-6487 or visit www.zct.org.
