AAA Vehicle Inspections

Summer is a time for travel and many people tend to hit the road before looking under their car’s hood.

AAA Ohio will provide a free inspection to make sure that when you do head out for your summer vacation, you don’t take a side trip to a mechanic.

The inspection will be at the Northside Maysville Pharmacy on Maysville Pike Wednesday from 10:00 p.m. 2:00 p.m. Anyone can come and get their car inspected by AAA technicians.

“You can just come out, bring your car,” said Kimberly Schwind, AAA Ohio Auto Club’s Senior Public Relations Manager. “We have our expert technicians that are out here. They’re going to be checking cars, things like the belts, the hoses, the lights, the batteries, the fluid levels so very simple things that a lot of people neglect.”

It’s the second year AAA and the Muskingum County Safe Communities Coalition partnered to have the inspections at Northside. People with car seats can get another inspection as well.

“Just drive right up, and we’ll get you in,” Schwind said. “You can get your car checked. This year we’ve also added another safety aspect. We’ll be doing free car seat checks. So if you have car seats or booster seats in your cars we can check those as well as we’re checking your car.”

Schwind said the inspection will take around ten minutes, and the car seat installation could take around a half hour. Another thing offered this year, the Muskingum County Safe Communities Coalition will have information on the importance of seat belt usage.

According to the coalition, 68 percent of people involved in fatal crashes were not wearing their seatbelt.
