Pizza For A Good Cause

WHIZ’s own Phil Sakal is holding “A Slice of Zanesville” this coming Friday.

Sakal will be taking part in Dancing with the Divas this coming July and the pizza party Friday, June 26 is to raise money for his cause. The event will take place from 6PM to 8PM at Zane’s Landing. Sakal told us more about the planning process.

“I kind of went out and decided to ask the pizza places here in Zanesville if they would like to participate and generously, Picnic Pizza, Creno’s, Dominoes and Four Star definitely obliged.”

Tickets are ten dollars for one and thirty dollars for four. A ticket will get you a slice of pizza from each vendor and a beverage donated by Pepsi. As far as the cause goes, all of the money will be going straight toward the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. Sakal explained the cause hits very close to home for him as he was diagnosed with Colitis at a very young age. Sakal told us more about his fundraising goals.

“We’ve made a couple hundred right now. We had a fundraising event last week at Zak’s–we played guitar and I didn’t really break any windows so it was a success in my book. But hopefully, I want to raise at least a couple of thousand dollars with this and hopefully we will get a cure for Crohn’s and Colitis one day.”

There are five hundred tickets available. Sakal said you can buy them at the four different donating pizza shops, WHIZ and at the event on Friday. If you miss the event and would like to donate, you can do so via the Dancing with the Divas website: www.thedancingdivas.com

This will be the only fundraiser for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation in Zanesville this year.
