After the initial accident, Gerald Bishop, 55 and Bobbie O’Brien, 50 both of Heath were driving westbound on S.R. 16 in a Buick LaSabre. The highway patrol stated that Bishop attempted to stop his vehicle, but he struck Cory Cox before he was able to drive off the road and into a ditch.

The patrol confirmed that neither Cory nor Rachel Cox were wearing helmets at the time of the crash. Alcohol is suspected to be a factor, and the crash remains under investigation.
