Home Invasion Investigation Leads To Two Arrests
The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office has an update for us on an ongoing home invasion investigation.
The crime occurred on December 13, 2014 on Adamsville Road. Sheriff of Muskingum County, Matt Lutz said Detective Randy Wilson developed a suspect and has been attempting to locate him for questioning.
“We obtained information where the suspect possibly was in West Virginia. We did have our detectives there working with [the] Parkersburg Police Department who was a big asset to us down there. Through information obtained there, it led us back to Belpre Ohio in Washington County.”
It was in this County a residence was searched and the suspect was apprehended. This occurred at 12:15PM Monday with the assistance of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect has not yet been charged with the crime. The name of the suspect has not yet been released and the investigation is still ongoing. Lutz said the suspect may have been associating with Wesley Newman, a most wanted suspect on a felony of drug trafficking. The search for Newman has now come to an end.
“Our detectives were following up on leads and were able to locate a vehicle and we felt Wesley Newman was riding in that vehicle with a female that’s associated with the case as well. The vehicle was stopped on Interstate 77 just inside Noble County and we did find Wesley Newmann in the passengers seat. He was taken into custody.”
Newman’s arrest was made yesterday. A large amount of drugs and U.S. currency were taken from his possession.
