North Valley Bank Joins Buckeye Lake Community
Buckeye Lake saw a sign of economic hope today.
North Valley Bank invested one million dollars in the Walnut Street branch. President and CEO Fred O’Dell said he hopes the bank can serve the community through this time of strife.
“I think that it’ll help quite a bit,” said O’Dell. “I think the lake will rise again as they say so I think they’ll be fine. I hope it doesn’t take four or five years.. I think maybe in a year or two they’ll be back up and running again at the lake so and we’re here to help them get through that time.”
The Buckeye Lake area has been without a local bank, and North Valley hopes to provide peace of mind with their new branch that will be managed by a long-time resident of the area, Bryan Bonkowski.
“They had an office here for another bank and they closed their office down so we said, ‘I think buckeye lake deserves a bank’ so we decided to buy some land and build here,” said O’Dell.
The Buckeye Lake location is the fifth branch to open in the area and it will be open Monday through Friday and for half a day on Saturdays.
