Fireman’s Festival Parades Main Street
16 fire trucks from the local area paraded down main street in New Concord July 11.
Fire fighters were excited to spend the day with the community they serve.
“It’s nice for us because we are able to get out and meet the community a little bit on a non-emergency type basis,” said New Concord Fireman Association President. “They get to intermingle with us and see what we do a day to day basis, things like us and ask us questions. ”
It was all part of the annual Fireman’s Festival. The parade and festival benefits the volunteer fire stations in the area as well as boy scouts, cheer squads and other community groups.
“They go and spend it on the trip or things that they might need throughout the year,” said The money that goes to us.. We use for training, new equipment and things like that. ”
Other officials that joined the parade included the State Highway Patrol, the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office, and New Concord Police.
