Hawk Sentenced to Life in Prison

Muskingum County- A Muskingum County man will spend life in prison for the rape of a child.

The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office said Herman Hawk admitted to the crime in front of Judge Kelly Cottrill.

Authorities said the crime happened in the spring of 2023 at a home in Zanesville. The investigation started in June of 2024 when a detective with the Zanesville Police Department responded to a report of sexual assault. The victim’s family told police that Hawk had assaulted a child while he was living in their home.
