Many booked a ticket for a traveling adventure
Traveling didn’t cost a thing tonight.
Thanks to the fourth installment of the Zanesville Memorial Concert Band. The theme of the night was ‘All Around the World’. The audience traveled to Italy, Ireland, England and finally back home to the U.S.
“We have songs that have different countries and such in their titles, for instance we’re doing the ‘Irish Tune from County Derry,” said Assistant Conductor Janine Schmelzer.
The 55 band members have been working to entertain audiences for free during their Sunday performances. There’s only one concert left in the summer series. The band hopes to see the community come to finish the season with them.
“If we could just have everybody come on down to the river, hopefully we’ll able to be outside for that concert and bring your picnic summer,” said Schmelzer.
The band is also having a Chicken Dinner fundraiser. All dinners must be purchased in advance from a member, or at Mike Nelson’s Frames, Flames, and more in downtown Zanesville and Nonna’s Quilting Nook on Beverly Avenue.
You can pick up your purchased Chicken Dinner on July 26 at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The cost of the Chicken Dinner is just $9.00 and they come with half a chicken, a baked potato, applesauce, and a roll.
