Chamber Week 2025 is in Full Swing

ZANESVILLE, OH – The annual Chamber Week celebration has begun. This three-day series of events is a time to celebrate community members and businesses that make up the Zanesville-Muskingum Chamber of Commerce.

The luncheon is part of the Chamber’s tradition, bringing together members, new and old, to celebrate another successful year and look ahead to future growth.

“Chamber week is an annual event for us,” Zanesville-Muskingum Chamber President Dana Matz said. “Per our bylaws, we’re required to have an annual meeting, and this is an opportunity for us to introduce the new board members, recognize our outgoing board members, and then each luncheon we have a speaker come in.”

Matz continued, “There will be over 250 members of the Chamber of Commerce. Some folks come individually, and we have corporate sponsorships available, so they have a table and bring their whole staff. It’s a reward day for them. It’s also an opportunity to hear about what the Chamber and the Chamber entities do throughout the year.”

This year’s event is especially significant, with a powerful keynote speaker who brings decades of experience in leadership.

Colonel Jay Johnson, a 31-year Marine veteran and leader at the Voinovich Academy at Ohio University’s Dublin campus, shared his insights on leadership and developing the next generation of leaders.

“My wife’s a small business owner, we live in Urbana Ohio so Champaign County, it’s very similar to Muskingum,” Johnson said. “Urbana is probably half the size of Zanesville but we’re very familiar and we support our chamber back home and you want to support the chamber here too as well.”

As Chamber Week wraps up on Thursday the 13th, with a business mixer, the Chamber continues to strengthen connections and foster opportunities for local businesses to thrive.
