Baseball Scoreboard: Americans Split, Juniors Stay Alive

The Zanesville Americans U-15 Babe Ruth squad kicked off regional action in Eau Claire, Wisconsin by splitting their first two games. The Americans lost to Crown Point (Ind.) 13-10 but bounced back to blank Green Bay (Wis.) 2-0. Joel Campbell and Brandon Pritchard combined to throw a five-hit shutout in the victory. The Americans have one more pool play game Friday at 4 p.m. before beginning knockout play on Saturday.

The Zanesville Junior Pioneers bounced back in the O.I.C.B.L. championship, beating the Columbus Jets, 3-2, to force the rubber match of a three-game series. The final game is Friday at 6 p.m. at Dublin Coffman.
