Animal Shelter Pet of the Week
Dawn, a boxer-lab mix, is this week’s pet of the week, looking for her forever home.
Animal Shelter Rescue Coordinator, Charity Stevens, said Dawn is a sweet and loving dog, who loves to cuddle. She said she would be a great dog for anyone looking for their first pet.
“The problem is that she’s been here for so long, that she’s kind of getting overlooked because she does have some corks about her personality,” Stevens said. “Personally, she doesn’t really care for other dogs, and she doesn’t care for cats. We need that special person that has no other pets, who is wanting just one pet to have and to give her the companionship she needs.”
Dawn is five-and-a-half years old, about 50 pounds, and has been at the shelter since the end of December. Stevens said she is healthy and very obedient. This energetic pup will even lay at your feet.
“She is completely up-to-date on her shots, she’s been spayed already, heart worm tested and negative, so she’s ready,” Stevens said.
Dawn’s adoption fee is $50 and an extra $10.75 for her license.
