UPDATE: Taylor New Principal at ZMS
UPDATE:Â Zanesville Middle School will see a familiar face in the Principal’s seat this fall.
Former Assistant Principal Jason Taylor will step up to the position beginning in the next academic year. Superintendent of Zanesville City Schools Doug Baker said it’s Taylor’s passion for the job and community that made him the right person for the job.
“That’s what came through in the interview process, was that commitment to that school, the commitment to the students and the parents that attend that school and the commitment to the staff of that school,” said Baker.
Taylor will be the second principal in two years to lead the Blue Devils at ZMS but Baker said he’s here to stay which should provide the stability to students and faculty.
“He indicated that that is his ideal plan is to a long term principal at Zanesville Middle School,” said Baker. “I think the board is very happy with that selection. I think they’re putting their full support behind Mr. Taylor.”
The Zanesville Board of Education is currently working to schedule and plan open houses for the upcoming academic year.
The Zanesville City School District has filled the position of Zanesville Middle School Principal for the 2015-2016 school year.
At a special meeting Thursday morning the board made the decision to promote current Assistant Principal Jason Taylor to the position.
