Spring Tourism

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Muskingum County blossoms every spring and draws visitors from all around to experience its nature and rich culture.
Zanesville-Muskingum County Convention & Visitors Bureau Manager Jordin Harmer talked about some of the unique opportunities that can be found during the next few months.
“We have a lot of things happening this spring,” Harmer said. “Our museums are opening at the first of May. So our John and Annie Glenn Museum, National Road and Zane Grey Museum, the Stone Academy. Of course we have outdoor recreation is ramping up so we have our fishing and hiking and turkey season and all of that. And then we have a lot of special events too.”
Nature plays as much of a role in attracting visitors to Muskingum County as its rich natural resources have played in forming its distinctive history and culture.
“Tourism has a major impact on the economy,” Harmer said. “So a 2024 study came out and in the past it had made a $272 Million impact on the county. So major impact where we want to support tourism in our area and there’s lots of ways to do that.”
