Ohio State Pitcher Loses Bout With Cancer

Ohio State pitcher Zach Farmer has lost his battle his leukemia. The Piketon, Ohio native was just 21 years old.

Farmer was involved with the community during his bout with cancer, helping to raise awareness to the bone marrow registry through his “Be the Match” organization. He also spoke to several schools around Central Ohio and supported multiple individuals with similar illnesses.

“The positive frame of mind that he had, it certainly comes to my mind,” said Ohio State baseball coach Greg Beals when asked what he remembers most about the prized recruit. “His smile, that Southern Drawl. He won’t be soon forgotten.”
