Sobriety Checkpoints Tonight

The Cambridge Post of the State Highway Patrol released the location of Friday’s sobriety checkpoints in Guernsey County.

The checkpoints will take place on State Route 209 at mile post 15 from 9pm-11pm Friday night and on US 22 at mile post 6 from 11pm-1am.

Byesville Police Department will assist the patrol.

The OVI checkpoints are funded by federal grants and are planned to deter and intercept  impaired drivers.

The checkpoints will be held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to combat alcohol related injury and fatal crashes.

Authorities said if you plan to consume alcohol, designate a driver or make other travel arrangements before you drink.
