Panthers and Muskies Grace Muskingum County Fair
Area bands stopped by the north stage at the fair Sunday.
The John Glenn Steel Band and the Maysville drumline gave the full pavilion a taste of their upcoming band seasons. Although the crowd was impressed with the performance, fourth bass drummer Hayden Dutro said there’s much more coming.
“Oh yeah. Just a little taste,” Dutro said. “Were going to get a lot better. I can assure you of that.”
The Little Muskie Steel Band its appearance after the two bands took a march around the grounds to celebrate the first day of the fair, band director Jonathan Kelsey said the band enjoys the chance to give new students the opportunity to perform on their own.
“This is now when we’ve aged out our senior members from last year and are now working with our new members who are going to be a part of the group for the next year, and this is really their first major performance where they don’t have help from the senior students,” Kelsey said.
