Record Liquor Sales On A Local Level

Nearly one billion dollars has been spent on liquor in the State of Ohio during the last year.

This is yet another record for the State of Ohio. Local liquor stores are feeling the benefits of the high amount of sales. Owner of the Winerak Market on Maple, Mike Alfman told us more about his top selling liquors during the past year.

“Two of the big sellers for this summer have been the Crown Royal Apple and the Fireball which is a cinnamon whiskey and they’ve both been very popular both for carryout and also in the bars.”

Other top sellers include Captain Morgan and flavored vodkas. The Ohio Department of Commerce said on Sunday that revenue from liquor sales in 2015 were up by seven percent to just over nine hundred and twenty eight million. Alfman told us more about how their sales stacked up.

“The Winerak on State liquor has been just about the same.” Said Alfman, “We’re between seven and eight percent increase for the year.”

Alfman encourages everyone to remember the dangers of drinking and driving and to always drive sober.
