Harmony Comes in Four Parts

Four part harmony is music unlike the tunes you hear on the radio today.

The Y-City Barbers are at the Muskingum County Fair alongside the Sweet Adelines this week, giving the community a peek at their pipe and trying to recruit singers for their chorus. Treasurer of the Y-City Barbers Duane Deal said people of any age can pick up the pitch pipe and learn the craft.

“They don’t have to be able to read music, they just have to enjoy singing,” said Deal. “We practice every Monday night except for some holidays that interfere, at 7:30 p.m. At Grace United Methodist Church on the corner of 5th and Shinnick.”

You can catch a quartet performance on Live at Noon on Thursday.
