Mass Flu Clinic October 6th

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Flu season is approaching and to help combat the flu the Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department is offering a drive-thru and walk-in flu shot clinic.
In 2015 more than 2,000 Muskingum County residents took part in the free clinic. The flu drive-thru and walk-in will take place at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds on Thursday, October 6th from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The vaccine is recommended for people ages three years and older.
“They will need to bring their ID,” ZMCHD Assistant Director of Nursing Tiffany McFee said. “If they’ve got an insurance card bring that with them. While they won’t be charged for the vaccine, it is a billable service that we can get reimbursed for that will sustain our flu clinic efforts for years to come.”
McFee said to make this a seamless process, the health department encourages participants to come with a flu vaccine consent form already filled out. The consent form can be found on the health department website. Mcfee said getting the flu shot is imperative.
“For your personal health. The goal is to protect against the flu strains that are out there. Of course, we can’t protect against every flu strain. Even if you are exposed to the flu hopefully your symptoms will be more mild. They won’t cause any severe symptoms,” McFee said.
