Dresden Pool Closes For Season

Labor Day typically marks the unofficial end of summer and it also marks the end of swim season.

The Dresden Swim Center closed its gates for the last time this summer. We had the chance to speak to Pool Manager, Nick Bice about the season who told us a little bit about the attendance over the last few months.

“It was average. Like I said with the weather we had in the beginning of summer.” He explained, “We cant control the weather so it was average. The end of summer obviously picked up with this real nice weather.”

Though they will not have an official total on dollars earned, Bice said they were below average with finances but will still be financially ok. Bice also told us they have some exciting plans they hope to put in place by next swim season.

“We’re exploring the ideas of maybe having a movie night.” Said Bice, “Renting inner tubes and having them sit in the water with a movie night big screen and stuff like that.”

The Dresden Pool closes at 7:00 p.m. Labor Day evening and will re-open again Memorial Day of 2016. Season passes will not be sold until next year.
