Zanesville Resident Killed in Accident
A two car accident claims the life of a Zanesville resident.
The Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol reports the crash took place Thursday evening just minutes after 6:30 and closed US 40 at North Hopewell Road in Muskingum County for nearly two hours.
Troopers say 60-year-old Steven Parr, of Zanesville, was driving east on US 40 in a blue 1994 Saturn SL when he turned left onto Hopewell National Road into the path of an orange 2007 Dodge Nitro driven by 36-year-old Steven Padar Junior, of Gratiot.
Following the impact Parr’s vehicle overturned into a ditch. The State Patrol said Parr was killed in the accident, which remains under investigation.
The Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the National Trails Fire Department, Falls Township Fire Department, Zanesville Fire Department, Medflight and the Coroner’s Office.
