Car Fire Under Investigation

Crews responded to the scene of a multi-vehicle fire Tuesday afternoon.

It happened just after 1:30 at the “Park and Ride” parking lot, near the Interstate 70-Adamsville Road exit. According to Lieutenant Matt Boyd of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, two vehicles were completely engulfed in flames and three surrounding vehicles were damaged as a result. Boyd said the fire may have been caused by someone attempting to steal gas from the parked vehicles.

The Washington Township Fire Department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol both responded to the scene. No one was injured in the blaze. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
