Cars Gather for Triple Nickel Country Cruise In
The fifth annual Triple Nickel Country Cruise in brought cars of all ages.
From classic Ford trucks to army inspired bugs, and Mustangs for every taste, cars lined up for show. Member of the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Stovertown Brenda Wolfe helps to organize the annual event and she said that it’s been a lot of hard work putting on the 80 car show.
“This has honestly grown into something that we never dreamed would be this big, had no idea what we were taking on when we took it on,” said Wolfe. “It’s a lot of getting out to the local businesses and asking for donations. It’s just a lot of your free time but as you can see it’s well worth it to give back to the community.”
It didn’t cost a thing to register your car for display. There was food and raffle tickets as well as a 50-50 raffle to raise money for the church’s youth group events. Wolfe said the church makes it a priority to offer fun for their youth group and to make it all free.
“We do outdoor movies,” said Wolfe. “We do game nights and then when we hold those specific events there’s no charge for the youth that come. Their food and everything is free for them. ”
While the rain kept the show from father’s day weekend, Wolfe said most mark their calendars for the event each year.
