Fire on Maple Avenue

Zanesville Fire Chief Eric Waltemire says a fire Wednesday morning was caused by a discarded cigarette into mulch. It happened at a building at the corner of Maple and Military Avenues just before 7:00 a.m. Waltemire says a door and a wall caught fire and caused around $5,000 damage. The building houses multiple businesses including Little Caesars Pizza and a cash advance store. All stores were closed at the time of the fire. There were no injuries reported.
