Blue Devils Take a Look at Space

NASA (National Aeronautics Space Administration) made a stop at the home of the Blue Devils to inspire science and engineering students.

Leader of Advanced Fuels Bryan Palaszewski spoke to students about NASA’s history as well as it’s fast growing future including our move toward life on mars. He said he hopes that presentations like this one lead to new faces in math and science fields but most importantly, fields that help the world.

“A lot of young people need to be captured early in their lives and say ‘ I could be a scientist. I could be an engineer. I could be a medical doctor’ and a lot of people in our society they rely on technology so much but they don’t understand any of it so we’ve got to have more people that real understand technology so we can control it better and create all kinds of fantastic products,” said Palaszewski.

Palaszewski has been with NASA for 26 years and he said that he knew he’d end up there when he was just five years old.

“My friends and I, we didn’t play ‘cops and robbers’ or ‘cowboys and Indians,'” said Palaszewski. “We played astronauts. One person would circle around the other and they’d be in orbit. Two would go down to the surface of the moon. So, yeah we played astronauts on a regular basis. ”

He also spoke at Ohio University Zanesville and the observatory was open following the presentation.
