ZANESVILLE, Ohio - As the summer season ends, Christ’s Table wants to thank all local farmers and produce markets that have donated to the kitchen.

They have received an overabundance of fresh produce in the past couple of month’s, and Executive Director, Keely Warden, is extremely grateful.

“It has been a great harvest, and we just want to put a shout out there to all of our local farmers and produce markets that started in the spring with the zucchini, lettuce, and cucumbers, and have supported us clear through the summer. We have had an overabundance of melons, tomatoes, and peppers. All of those things that we can make nutritious meals with,” said Warden.

All of the donations that come in, help the kitchen prepare healthy meals everyday. Those who come to dine, can also take fresh produce home to share with their families.

“It’s amazing. They all stand around and watch what’s going to come in, because these things are things that they just can’t go into local grocery stores and purchase. They just can’t afford it,” said Warden.
