Osborn Pleads Not Guilty
An area man has been arraigned on charges of unlawful possession of explosives.
40-year-old Anthony Osborn of Blue Rock faces four counts of illegal manufacturing or processing of explosives and four counts of unlawful possession of a dangerous ordnance.
He plead not guilty in front of Judge Mark Fleegle and bond was continued at $100,000.
Zanesville Police Captain Tony Coury said that Osborn was arrested earlier this month during a traffic stop where an officer found four crude pipe bombs with fuses in the back seat of the vehicle. A small amount of marijuana was also recovered.
Coury said Osborn told police he wasn’t planning on doing any physical harm to humans with the bombs, but claimed he constructed the explosives because he was not permitted to own a firearm because of previous arrests.
