DRESDEN, Ohio- A local community rallies together to support a sheriff’s deputy injured in the line of duty.

The Sons of the American Legion is hosting a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for Muskingum County Sheriff’s Deputy Rod Holdcroft. Holdcroft was seriously injured in an accident this past June on State Route 146. The dinner will take place at the American Legion Post located at 1384 Main Street in Dresden.

“Some of the thought behind it was just to help a gentleman who’s been laid up and was in an unfortunate accident while on duty,” Sons of the American Legion, Chaplin, David Matthew said. “Just to lift him some too and let him know the community cares.”

The dinner will take place on Saturday, October 8th. Doors will open at 11 a m. The menu items include spaghetti, salad, and a drink. The fundraiser will feature a Chinese auction and a 50/50 drawing. Matthew shared what he is most looking forward to on October 8th.

“The food,” Matthew said.

“Also hopefully seeing a lot of support from the county especially,” Sons of the American Legion, Commander, Bob Davis said. “And maybe even outside the county.”
