Farmers Market Winding Down
While some are putting the last touches on their Halloween costumes, others are taking the last opportunity to get fresh locally grown produce for the season.
Today is the last day for the market, it is now closed for the season. Market manager at the Zanesville Farmer’s Market Betty Toliver told us they’re celebrating a big milestone.
“That’s what I’ve always liked about this market, we celebrated our 40th anniversary this year and I love that we’re so rounded so diversified, that’s why we been around so long,” said Toliver.
After 40 years running many businesses have joined the market. Bill Longshore said the Farmer’s Market is a great outlet to showcase his products. he told us that Longshores will have everything you need for your Thanksgiving Dinner.
“The farmers market is just another outlet that we have and we sell a lot at the farm because, we only live right along the city limits,” said Longshore. “Longshore went on to explain” we’ll be selling as long as we have turkeys.”
Although, the Farmers Market in Zanesville will be closed for the season after today; Grandville, New Albany and Athens will have a Winter Market. New Albany’s Winter Market opens next weekend and their hours are Saturdays from 9 a.m. through 12 p.m.
