Eggstravaganza Returns to First Church of God
ZANESVILLE, OH – Get ready to hop into the Easter spirit! One local church is cracking open a tradition that’s sure to bring a lot of fun.
The Zanesville First Church of God is once again hosting its beloved Eggstravaganza! More than 10,000 colorful eggs will be scattered across the church lawn, ready for kids ages zero to 12 to scoop up. The hunt is divided into four separate age groups, so every little bunny gets a fair chance at the fun.
“We have bicycles and all kinds of gifts to give away for each age category, boys and girls. No child will walk away without something in their hands,” Pastor Jim Childers said.
Along with the egg hunt, there will be food, music, prizes, and much more. And while the candy and prizes are exciting, the church says it’s important to remember the true meaning of Easter.
“It’s an opportunity for us to reach out to the community so they can see what the true story of Easter is all about, which is about Jesus Christ. It’s not about the bunny. We want them to enjoy family time and see that you can have fun in church as well,” Pastor Childers said.
The Eggstravaganza will be Saturday, April 19th, at the First Church of God, located at 1930 Newark Road in Zanesville. You can pre-register online by Wednesday, April 16th, by scanning the QR code pictured above, or you can sign up in person the day of the event. Festivities kick off at 10:30 A.M.
