Free flu shots for Muskingum County residents

ZANESVILLE, OHIO- Â The Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department(Z.M.C.H.D.) will be holding their 10th annual drive thru flu shot clinic at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds on Thursday, October 6th from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Flu shots are free and only available to Muskingum County residents. Â The health department has prepared nearly 2,700 vaccinations for the clinic.
Jennifer Hiestand, Public Information Officer at Z.M.C.H.D. said that they offer these flu shot clinics for more than just providing people with flu vaccinations.
“We’re testing our ability to either immunize or give medication to a large amount of people in a short amount of time,” said Hiestand.
The vaccination takes about 2 weeks to fully take effect, so Hiestand said that its important to get your flu shot as soon as possible.
“Our vaccine protects you from what research has proven to be the most common viruses this year.”
If you attend the event, please bring photo identification and an insurance card. Â Registration forms can be filled out during the clinic, or you can go online to www.zmchd.org and print out a form before arriving to the clinic.
