ZANESVILLE, OHIO- The Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department and volunteers held their 10th annual flu shot clinic at the Muskingum County Fairground on Thursday.

The free annual flu shot clinic offered drive thru vaccinations for residents of Muskingum County.

Carol Howdyshell, Director of Nursing for the Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department said that they also use this event as an emergency preparedness exercise.

“What we do as staff is practicing carrying the radios and communicating with them,” said Howdyshell.  “We interact with all of our partners.  From traffic to the school of nursing, they assist us with giving the shots.”

The Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department along with community partners reported that 1,944 shots were given out on Thursday.
