ZANESVILLE, Ohio – People will be gaining connections through art.

The first all Ohio Contemporary Ceramics Competition and Show is happening Friday, October 7, 2016 through Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Yan Sun’s Art Museum starting at 5:00 P.M. The juror, Christine Golden, is excited and nervous to judge the pieces.

“It’s good because you have somebody’s who connected to Ohio, but there is a little bit of a distance so there is not a conflict of interest there,” said Golden.

Registrations can still be made and all art work must be delivered in person on Friday, October 7, 2016 between 9:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. Golden finds that this show is interesting for its diversity and the artist’s will be attending and growing in connections.

“Probably the most exciting thing I think about is that since you have to bring your art work in it brings everybody, teachers, artists, local people from the university, students everybody comes in and meets,” said Golden

The ceramics competition is for artist’s that were born in, lived in, worked in, attended school in Ohio or is submitting an Ohio themed ceramic. For more information email Dave Mitzel at mitzel@ahoot.org or by calling (740) 221-2165.
