ZANESVILLE, OHIO- Public transit always looks for support from local officials to emphasize and value public transportation within their communities.

Howard Stewart, Transit Director for S.E.A.T., said that he wanted to inform the commissioners on their new county-wide ride system.

“It’s where individuals in the county could call in and if our schedule permits, we can go get them to where they need to go,” said Stewart.

The county-wide ride system is called “curb-to-curb service”.

Stewart said that S.E.A.T. is one of the very few rural transits in the state of Ohio that is located in two counties.  As of recently, S.E.A.T. is now crossing counties to meet more of the publics transportation needs.

“Now we are doing cross county transportation between the two counties that we serve which is Guernsey and Muskingum County.”
