The Zanesville Blue Devils home football game against New Philadelphia has been suspended until Saturday, October 8th at 7pm after a medical emergency involving umpire Charlie Linch.

After a New Philadelphia touchdown on the opening drive, Linch collapsed and was immediately attended to by the Zanesville training staff and Genesis staff. Linch was then transported by ambulance to Genesis hospital after suffering a heart attack. No further information has been released.

WHIZ-TV will not broadcast the game as part of “Game of the Week”.  The game will air tomorrow on AM-1240 after the Ohio State game against Indiana.
