ZANESVILLE, Ohio – John Glenn golfer Dylan Van Fossen will be making his third and final appearance in the Division II state tournament when the Muskie tees off at Ohio State’s Scarlet Course on Friday.

The three-time district champ and three-time MVL medalist carded a 71 at River Greens to win the last district tournament of his career. His qualifying score is the third-lowest in D-II entering the weekend.

Van Fossen previously competed at state in his sophomore and junior seasons, helping the Muskies post a fourth-place team finish in 2014.

The John Glenn senior won’t be the only familiar face teeing off among the best of the best on Friday and Saturday. New Lexington (Brayden Metzger, Kolten Foraker, Trey Givens, Tyler Brown & Caleb Barnette) finished runner-up in the D-II Southeast District, and Newark Catholic (Nick Willis, Will Price, Keaton Wirth, Xavier Garthside & Drew Young) won the D-III Central District for the first time in program history. Sheridan sophomore Heath Knight qualified individually in D-II, as did Lakewood Lady Lancer senior Crystal Hanbaum.

The boys D-III tournament will be played at NorthStar Golf Club; the girls D-II tournament is set to tee off at Ohio State’s Gray Course.
