Live Trees mean Memories that Last
While artificial trees gain popularity, live trees can make Christmas memories last a life-time.
If you’re considering a live tree this year, it’s important to care for your planted pine. Owner of Timber Run Gardens Steve Carter has tips for treating your live tree this season.
“There is a little more care there,” said Carter. “You don’t want it in the house to awful long, about ten days to two weeks maximum. You want to definitely plant it after Christmas. You don’t want to leave it sit around so maybe dig the hole ahead of time.”
While the tree is in the home before planting takes place, Carter said be sure to keep it hydrated. When you’re ready to move your pine outdoors, take it partially outdoors first to acclimate it to the winter weather and after it’s planted, you can remember your Christmas for years to come.
“I’ve seen over the years, they say well that was the tree planted in 1990, that was planted in 91′ and they got a big row of trees that they have in their yard they had for Christmas trees throughout the different years,” said Carter.
Carter said there’s plenty of time to get your live tree yet this year.
