Helping Hands Fourth Annual Event
The Zanesville Women’s Bowling Association is hosting its fourth annual event called Helping Hands.
This event took place at Sunrise Strikes early Friday. The purpose is to allow families selected by the Salvation Army and other community organizations to bowl for free. Each family will also receive baskets filled with thoughtful non-perishable gifts.
“In previous years I believe we had 50 teams or so, this year we had the most that we had ever had, with a total of 67 teams that participated in the event. We were able to raise a little over a thousand dollars to help these families,” said Andrea Hoffman.
Last Mother’s Day as Robert Altier was headed to Lancaster he was involved in an accident with a deer and suffered many injuries. He’s says he’s thankful for the help he has recieved.
“I’m just so happy that these people are out here doing this type of stuff for families because, I know i’m here so, I know there are other families that are in the same position that I am. One thing that I was worried to death about was Christmas. Because, I always try to make sure that my kids have a great Christmas. I was worried to death and people like this came to me and wanted to help me and I just felt so amazed, I felt so happy that they picked me to help,” said Robert Altier.
The event was held from 3:30 to 5.
