Larry Triplett to Receive Dick Johnson Award

The award honors Muskingum County residents who have outstanding achievements in business, community leadership and philanthropy, a rare combination exemplified by the late Richard O. Johnson.

“Richard Johnson was a business leader here in the area that was involved in a lot of philanthropic opportunities and was a big supporter of the Muskingum County area. This award is a great way to honor Richard for the work that he did and to also honor a recipient each year to honor the work that they’ve done,” said Brian Wagner, CEO of the Muskingum County Community Foundation (MCCF).

“Larry and his business partner began Resource Systems, which was one of the very first companies to really begin to operate in the space of providing documentation software for nursing facilities and hospitals,” said Wagner.

In 2004, Triplett helped form the non-profit organization called the Muskingum County Business Incubator (MCBI) that helps businesses expand and create other jobs for people in the region.

In 2011, Triplett contributed in founding the East Central Ohio Tech Angel Fund, which helps the Southeastern Ohio’s entrepreneurs find private equity investors. The fund has been recognized as one of the best performing angel investment funds in the nation.

The award allows the MCCF to honor those who have given back to the community.

“This award allows us to recognize individuals who have helped out the community on two different sides. One being that their business is being strong and local, but also being very philanthropic and generous back to the community to give either their time, talent, or resources to help Muskingum County be as strong as possible,” said Wagner.

The Award, founded in 2000 through the efforts of Bob Kessler, will be presented to Triplett on Friday, January 29th, 2016, during the Groundhog Day celebration of the 31st anniversary of the Muskingum County Community Foundation.
