ZANESVILLE, Ohio–An ongoing partnership is making a big impact in Zanesville schools.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Zanesville, or BBBSZ, recently received their largest award yet from the Zanesville Canal and Manufacturing Company.

“We’ve been a recipient of the [John McIntire fund] from the Zanesville Canal and Manufacturing Company for the entirety of me being the director here for our Lunch Buddies program. There are two schools that are covered by this funding, Zane Gray intermediate school as well as John McIntire elementary school. This grant supports and impacts over 65 kids,” BBBSZ President and CEO Katie Lupsor said.

According to Lupsor, the increased funding will be a tremendous help due to the rising cost to serve each child in the program.

“The check was written by the Zanesville Canal and Manufacturing Company for BBBSZ, we have a relationship with them because their mission and our mission coincide,” Tim Linn, Zanesville Canal & Manufacturing Co. added.
