Muskingum Co. Murder-Suicide Under Investigation

Muskingum County- The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a murder-suicide in Washington Township.

Sheriff Matt Lutz said that around 8:45pm Monday they received 911 calls about a domestic violence situation with firearms at 3900 Church Hill Road.

Authorities said when they arrived on scene they discovered a deceased male and female inside the home. Sheriff Lutz said it was determined that 34-year-old Zackary Tackett had shot his 34-year-old wife, Brittany three times. She died as a result of her injuries. Sheriff Lutz said it was determined that Tackett then turned the gun on himself and died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
