West Muskingum has a ball

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- West Muskingum High School had quite the ball Wednesday night.

The Harlem Wizards came to town to help fundraise for the West Muskingum Youth League.

Jen Fowler, board member for the West Muskingum Youth League, said they were excited for the Wizards to come help the organization.

“We’re in need of the baseball fields, the soccer fields and the equipment,” said Fowler. “When the wizards come we get 50% of all the tickets sold and all the proceeds, so this is a major fundraiser here at West for our kids.”

The game was played against a mix of local faces. The team, called “West M Superstars,” was comprised of teachers, former basketball alum and was coached by current students.

“Oh my gosh the kids were ecstatic about this,” said Fowler. “We have been in the schools, we’ve sent home fliers, we have done Facebook contests; we have probably drove the parents crazy.”

This was the Wizards’ first trip to the county.
