Solving a Summer Reading Mystery

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Library System offers plenty of fun opportunities to keep your kids busy during their summer break.

One such activity that is aimed toward K-through-5 students will take place Tuesday and will highlight the works of multiple Ohio artists.

“We wanted to promote one of our Summer Reading programs. We have a performer who is going to be at three branch locations. It’s called ‘To Catch An Art Thief. Carmen Ohio has come and stolen art. So the kids are going to try to figure out where Carmen Ohio is. And afterwards, that will be about 30 minutes, the kids will get to create their very own Art,” Assistant Teen Librarian Alyssa Fisher said.

To Catch An Art Thief will take place at the Duncan Falls Branch at 2:30 before wrapping up at the South Branch Library at 5:30.

“It will be teaching them about local Ohio artists. Which is great for like, supporting the arts community and figuring out, like oh, there is lots of depth in Ohio Art History,” Fisher said.

Attendees must register for the hour-long event at the library system’s website.
