Weber leads Buckeyes past Northwestern

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Redshirt freshman running back Mike Weber found pay dirt twice to help the #6 Buckeyes earn a bounce-back win over Northwestern, 24-20, at Ohio Stadium.
Ohio State led the Wildcats 17-10 at the half and hung on despite being outscored by the visitors in the second half, 10-7. Weber proved to be the bright spot on the Buckeye offense, averaging 6.7 yards per carry in addition to a pair of scores. Curtis Samuel scored Ohio State’s third and final rushing touchdown on a three-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Ohio State returns to The Shoe for a showdown with #7 Nebraska next Saturday. The Cornhuskers figure to drop in the rankings after falling to #11 Wisconsin, 23-17.
