Sobriety Checkpoints Tonight

Number Ovi

The State Highway Patrol plans two sobriety checkpoints for Friday in Guernsey County.

The first will take place from 9-11pm on State Route 209 mile post 14 and the second from 11pm-1am on US 22 mile post 6.

The patrol will work in conjunction with the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office, Cambridge Police and Byesville Police Departments.

Saturation patrols will be held near the checkpoints to aggressively combat alcohol related injury and fatal crashes.

The patrol said if you plan to consume alcohol, designate a driver or make other travel arrangements.

The checkpoints are funded with federal grants and are planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.
