The Muskingum County Sheriff is warning area senior citizens about an on-going scam. Sheriff Matt Lutz says since October 26th his office has taken three reports from elderly victims that have been contacted on the telephone and told a family member needs bond money. The victims are told to send cash to various locations in the United States via FedEx. Lutz says so far three victims have lost over 69-thousand dollars. The calls are coming from cell phones that have Canadian area codes. Lutz says his detectives are currently working with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in hopes of stopping the scam. If you have any question or have been contacted call the Sheriff’s Office.
