Zanesville, Ohio- Every year the Muskingum County Ohio State University Alumni Club hosts a viewing party during one of the Ohio State away games.

This year, members of the club gathered to The Barn to watch Ohio State take on Maryland.

Terry Kopchak, President of the OSU Alumni Club of Muskingum County, said that they use these events to help raise money for their scholarship fundraisers.

Kopchak said that their primary cause as a club is to raise money to go towards scholarships for both future and current students of Ohio State.  He said that last year they gave out over $8,000 worth of scholarships.

“Every year we award scholarships to Muskingum County students that are attending any Ohio State campuses,” said Kopchak.  “We give scholarships to entering freshman as well as current students at Ohio State.  We’re hoping to raise enough money for one scholarship from this event.”

Kopchak said that it’s great to get together with the members of the organization, but he said the most rewarding part is being able to give back to the students.

Since the club was established in 1988, the OSU Alumni Club has given out more than $128,000 in scholarships to OSU students.
