Troopers Seize 45 Pounds of Marijuana
The Zanesville Post of the Highway Patrol says it seized more than 45 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop. Lt. Matt Boyd says it happened Friday after troopers stopped a 2016 Audi for failing to obey a traffic control device on I-70 in Zanesville just after 10:30 a.m. Lt. Boyd says criminal indictors were observed and a Zanesville Police Department drug sniffing dog alerted troopers and a probably cause search revealed the marijuana. It has a street value of just over 281-thousand dollars. Boyd says the driver, 29-year-old Clifton Futch of Belcamp, Maryland was taken to the Muskingum County Jail and charged with trafficking in drugs. If convicted he could face up to 10 years in prison and a 2-thousand dollar find.
