A local church is giving to the community for the up coming holidays.

House of Grace in South Zanesville is inviting community members in on Thanksgiving day from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. for a dinner. Pastor Joe Dunlap, said people can come to the church and eat, the church can deliver meals to those that cannot leave their houses, and the church will also pick people up that cannot drive.

“I would rather see them home with their family,” said Dunlap. “I’d rather see them sitting with their children, but if that doesn’t happen I want them to know we’ll be their family, we’ll be the children they don’t have, they’re not with or that are out-of-state.”

Dunlap said the House of Grace is offering Holiday Help for Teens. This is an annual event where the church and community offers Christmas presents to teens between the ages between 13 and 17 for parents who cannot buy for those teens.

“What’s exciting is when you get to see the parents that were not able to do anything for their teens, get to see the joy on their face,” said Dunlap. “Begin to experience with them the tears and times we’ve cried, we’ve laughed and everything else with them. So that’s exciting to see.”
